Update November 2021 – In 2021, St Luke’s Mission of Mercy Church began supporting The Build Promise Project, a fundraising effort to build a 22,000 square foot homeless shelter in Buffalo, New York. This facility would provide a year-round community wellness center, as well as act as an emergency location for all Buffalo residents. During COVID-19, the Buffalo area has been handing out over 1,100 meals per day, up from the pre-pandemic average of about 600. This facility would act as a central location for wellness efforts in Buffalo, as well as all of Western New York. To learn more about the project or to donate, visit the Build Promise website.

December 2020 – This holiday season, Alliant Capital Management is hosting a food drive for the St Luke’s Mission of Mercy Church to provide meals for the homeless in our community. Our generous team has been bringing in donations of non-perishable food items that will help provide holiday meals for neighbors in need.

With a 49% increase in households living in WNY emergency shelters in Buffalo and Erie Counties, it is our goal to help restore hope to those in need in Western New York. For many people, this challenging year has been filled with hardships that have been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and our communities are struggling. The Alliant team recognizes this opportunity to support the efforts of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy and bring comfort and joy to those in need through the food donations that our team has been collecting all month.

“The greater Buffalo area is our community and we want to support those who are struggling with food insecurity,” says VP of Operations Ed LoVallo. “No one should go hungry, especially at the holidays. We see and feel the struggles that our neighbors are facing. Through this company-wide food drive, we want to bring food and hope to those who need it most. We admire the compassion and kindness of our team members and their added efforts to deliver holiday cheer and much-needed meals throughout our community during these difficult times.”

To show our appreciation for the continued goodwill of our staff, we are recognizing the generosity of our employees by giving them a raffle ticket for each item they donate. These tickets will provide them a chance to participate in a drawing at the end of our drive.

To join us in our efforts to end hunger in our local area, we encourage you to visit the St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy Church website to learn more about how their programs, volunteer opportunities, and how you can make a donation.

We wish our team, clients, customers, industry colleagues, and those in our Buffalo area community a healthy, safe, and happy holiday season.
